In summer 2008, BLKB commissioned COMIT to implement its new Avaloq core banking platform. The BLKB – after an intensive negotiation phase – has now decided to entrust the operation of the entire banking platform to COMIT. The operational services for the core banking solution will be provided in the highly secure computer centres of Swisscom IT Services. The partnership is initially to run for a five year term. It includes the operation of both infrastructure and all application management tasks for the core banking system with all peripheral systems.
With this decision, the BLKB is implementing a consistent «single provider» strategy with the objective of decisively reducing both project and operational risks.
